FAQs

– HOW DO I OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU?

To open an account you can click here. Check the tickbox at the top of the page and fill out the form, please include your billing address and any directions to help our men to find your bins easier.

– HOW ARE COLLECTIONS CHARGED?

We charge per standard size black bag collected. A bill for services provided will be sent to the billing address on a monthly basis and will need to be settled within 30 days from the end of the month in which service first started, thereafter we operate on a 30 day payment term. Any use of over-sized bags will be charged at an increased rate corresponding to the size of the bag.

– HOW DO I SEPARATE MY WASTE?

BLACK BAGS are for general waste and will all end up at an Energy from Waste plant to be incinerated, producing electricity.

ORANGE BAGS are the bags we use if guests have left loose waste, rather than bagging it.

GREEN BAGS are for dry, mixed recyclables, specifically meaning glass, metal cans and tins, or plastic bottles and milk containers.

–  ARE THERE ANY STANDING CHARGES?

NO. We would like to offer a service that can be relied on in times of increased demand and not paid for in the quieter times. This gives you the best of both worlds, – low costs and commitment to service.

– WHEN DO YOU COVER MY AREA

We are currently covering all of Cornwall on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays we do operate other days but find most of our customers require us near to changeover. This is subject to change as our customer base increases.

– HOW CAN I BOOK A COLLECTION?

Once you have an account open, in order of preference you can book in by…

1:      You can click here or find the booking form on the website and plan your bookings to coincide with your lettings, you can block book or book individual slots, its very flexible to suit your needs. You must book no later than 12 hours before the required collection in order for us to guarantee your collection and the same is said for cancellations.

2:      If you are really stuck and can’t get online you can call us on 01872501221. ( If your only option is to call, our lines open Monday through to Saturday, we’ll gladly help you in person )

We recommend using option 1. above to ensure there is a record of the booking/cancellation and use of the automated booking service.

– DOES WASTE NEED TO BE BAGGED FOR COLLECTION?

Yes. Your waste is removed from the bins by hand, so, its important that all the waste that you would like removed from the bins is bagged. Our charging is based on a standard 60l bin bag. Only bagged waste will be removed. This keeps our round operating efficiently and an efficient round means no contracts.

– DO I RECEIVE PROOF OF COLLECTION?

YES. Proof of collection is sent to each home owner or management company at the end of the month. A waste transfer note showing the total number of bags collected in the billing period will be provided. This allows the homeowner proof to the council that you are managing your holiday home wastes lawfully.  We also have very clever GPS and camera software that shows the driver has been to the property and also photo documents every bag collected from every property. If there is any doubt on collection please ask us to provide photo proof of collection. We are happy to do this.

– DOES EACH ROUND NEED TO BE BOOKED?

YES. Each round will need to be booked in, in one of the above mentioned ways. Not booking will mean no collection for your property.

– WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ATTEND MY PROPERTY AND FIND AN EMPTY BIN?

As we are offering a service with the best of both worlds on offer, we need co-operation to keep our service running efficiently. Whenever an empty bin is at the property during a period in which collection has been arranged a charge is levied, be sure to cancel the collection to avoid unnecessary charges.  This will help us to attend only the properties needing our collection service. This keeps our round operating efficiently and an efficient round means no contracts.

– ONCE I HAVE AN ACCOUNT, WILL YOU ATTEND THE PROPERTY ‘AUTOMATICALLY’?

No. Each collection event needs to be actively booked using our online booking service which is available for bookings and cancellations 24/7. For bookings click here or go to our booking page.

– WHAT LEGALITIES NEED TO BE COVERED TO OPERATE A COLLECTION SERVICE?

To operate in line with the law, a waste carriers license issued by the Environment Agency is needed. We operate a permitted waste transfer station and our fleet holds the required waste carriers license. The final element is the waste transfer note, these are issued in tandem with your bill at the end of each billing period. Waste transfer notes cover your duty of care for your waste and provide you evidence of responsible disposal of your waste. When the council enquires if your property is using the council collection rounds our waste transfer note serves as evidence that you are using a paid for service in place of the council collection rounds.

– WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS

As with the rest of our collection system, we’ve worked to put systems in place that make the overall management of your property as simple as possible. There are a number of payment options available. Once you’ve received your bill in digital form, you will find a link to follow and make payment through, on  processing payment, you can either make a one off payment to settle the outstanding amount or you will have the option to set up a direct debit which will keep admin to a minimum all round

– ADVICE FOR PROPERTY MANAGERS.

1.  Always ensure your waste is both bagged and available at the agreed location for collection on collection days

2.  Please make sure you have booked your collection in, we do not attend properties without request to do so. You can book a block of collections in to make the collection arrangement easier and would recommend doing so by mail or via the online booking facility on the website

3.  Whenever an empty bin is at the property during a period in which collection has been arranged, be sure to cancel the collection to avoid an unnecessary charge.
